CVE-2026-89161 1 Pcre 1 Pcre2 2026-09-12 7.4 High
In PCRE2 before 10.48, pcre2_jit_match mishandles a previously copied subject being passed in as a context. An incorrect free operation can occur.
CVE-2026-89582 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-11 4.1 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bnx2x: fix double free in bnx2x_init_firmware() error path bnx2x_init_firmware() frees bp->init_ops, bp->init_data and bp->init_ops_offsets in its error path without setting them to NULL. The cleanup function bnx2x_release_firmware() frees the same three pointers unconditionally, so if init_firmware fails and release_firmware is later called (e.g. from __bnx2x_remove or through the function state machine), all three are freed a second time. Set each pointer to NULL after kfree() in the error path so that the subsequent kfree(NULL) in bnx2x_release_firmware() is a safe no-op.
CVE-2026-89563 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-11 4.4 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ip6_tunnel: use skb_cow_head() in ip6_tnl_xmit() ip6_tnl_xmit() may need to expand headroom before it can push the outer IPv6 and optional encap headers. It currently does that with skb_realloc_headroom(), copies skb->sk ownership, consumes the original skb, and then continues processing with the replacement skb kept only in its local variable. That is safe only if the helper cannot fail afterwards. But this helper still has post-reallocation error exits. collect_md tunnels reject non-NONE encap after the replacement, and ip6_tnl_encap() can also fail later. In those cases the helper returns an error to its callers while the caller still only has the original skb pointer. Both ip6_tnl_start_xmit() and the IPv6 GRE paths free the caller skb on error, so they can end up freeing an skb that ip6_tnl_xmit() already consumed. Use skb_cow_head() instead. It provides the required headroom and writability without privately replacing the caller-owned skb, so later error returns cannot leave callers with a stale pointer. The Ethernet users, ip6gretap and ip6erspan, clear IFF_TX_SKB_SHARING and already call skb_cow_head() before entering ip6_tnl_xmit(). They do not rely on the removed skb_shared() reallocation. This also makes the IPv6 tunnel path consistent with ip_tunnel_xmit().
CVE-2026-33811 2 Go Standard Library, Golang 2 Net, Go 2026-09-11 7.5 High
When using LookupCNAME with the cgo DNS resolver, a very long CNAME response can trigger a double-free of C memory and a crash.
CVE-2026-53009 2 Linux, Redhat 2 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux 2026-09-09 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ice: fix double-free of tx_buf skb If ice_tso() or ice_tx_csum() fail, the error path in ice_xmit_frame_ring() frees the skb, but the 'first' tx_buf still points to it and is marked as valid (ICE_TX_BUF_SKB). 'next_to_use' remains unchanged, so the potential problem will likely fix itself when the next packet is transmitted and the tx_buf gets overwritten. But if there is no next packet and the interface is brought down instead, ice_clean_tx_ring() -> ice_unmap_and_free_tx_buf() will find the tx_buf and free the skb for the second time. The fix is to reset the tx_buf type to ICE_TX_BUF_EMPTY in the error path, so that ice_unmap_and_free_tx_buf(). Move the initialization of 'first' up, to ensure it's already valid in case we hit the linearization error path. The bug was spotted by AI while I had it looking for something else. It also proposed an initial version of the patch. I reproduced the bug and tested the fix by adding code to inject failures, on a build with KASAN. I looked for similar bugs in related Intel drivers and did not find any.
CVE-2026-46189 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-09 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/vmw_pvrdma: Fix double free on pvrdma_alloc_ucontext() error path Sashiko points out that pvrdma_uar_free() is already called within pvrdma_dealloc_ucontext(), so calling it before triggers a double free.
CVE-2026-46173 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-08 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: exit: prevent preemption of oopsing TASK_DEAD task When an already-exiting task oopses, make_task_dead() currently calls do_task_dead() with preemption enabled. That is forbidden: do_task_dead() calls __schedule(), which has a comment saying "WARNING: must be called with preemption disabled!". If an oopsing task is preempted in do_task_dead(), between becoming TASK_DEAD and entering the scheduler explicitly, bad things happen: finish_task_switch() assumes that once the scheduler has switched away from a TASK_DEAD task, the task can never run again and its stack is no longer needed; but that assumption apparently doesn't hold if the dead task was preempted (the SM_PREEMPT case). This means that the scheduler ends up repeatedly dropping references on the dead task's stack, which can lead to use-after-free or double-free of the entire task stack; in other words, two tasks can end up running on the same stack, resulting in various kinds of memory corruption. (This does not just affect "recursively oopsing" tasks; it is enough to oops once during task exit, for example in a file_operations::release handler)
CVE-2026-64382 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-04 8.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: fix double-free in SMB2_open() replay A response-bearing attempt can return a replayable error and free its response buffer. If SMB2_open_init() fails before the next send, cleanup retains the previous buffer type and frees that response again. Reset response bookkeeping before each attempt to prevent the stale free.
CVE-2026-64384 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-04 9.8 Critical
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: fix change notify replay double-free A response-bearing attempt can return a replayable error and free its response buffer. If SMB2_notify_init() fails before the next send, cleanup retains the previous buffer type and frees that response again. Reset response bookkeeping before each attempt to prevent the stale free.
CVE-2026-64386 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-04 9.8 Critical
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: fix query_info() replay double-free A response-bearing attempt can return a replayable error and free its response buffer. If SMB2_query_info_init() fails before the next send, cleanup retains the previous buffer type and frees that response again. Reset response bookkeeping before each attempt to prevent the stale free.
CVE-2026-64387 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-04 9.8 Critical
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: fix query directory replay double-free A response-bearing attempt can return a replayable error and free its response buffer. If SMB2_query_directory_init() fails before the next send, cleanup retains the previous buffer type and frees that response again. Reset response bookkeeping before each attempt to prevent the stale free.
CVE-2026-64447 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-03 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: staging: media: ipu7: fix double-free and use-after-free in error paths In both ipu7_isys_init() and ipu7_psys_init(), pdata is allocated and then passed to ipu7_bus_initialize_device(), which stores it in adev->pdata. The ipu7_bus_release() function frees adev->pdata when the device's reference count drops to zero. Two error paths incorrectly call kfree(pdata) after the device teardown has already freed it: 1. When ipu7_mmu_init() fails: put_device() is called, which drops the reference count to zero and triggers ipu7_bus_release() -> kfree(pdata). The subsequent kfree(pdata) is a double-free. 2. When ipu7_bus_add_device() fails: it calls auxiliary_device_uninit() internally, which calls put_device() -> ipu7_bus_release() -> kfree(pdata). The subsequent kfree(pdata) is again a double-free. Note that the kfree(pdata) when ipu7_bus_initialize_device() itself fails is correct, because in that case auxiliary_device_init() failed and the release function was never set up, so pdata must be freed manually. Additionally, the error code was not saved before calling put_device(), causing ERR_CAST() to dereference the already-freed adev pointer when constructing the return value. Fix this by saving the error from dev_err_probe() before put_device() and returning ERR_PTR() instead. Remove the redundant kfree(pdata) calls and fix the use-after-free in the return values of the two affected error paths.
CVE-2026-64054 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-02 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: shaper: reject duplicate leaves in GROUP request net_shaper_nl_group_doit() does not deduplicate NET_SHAPER_A_LEAVES entries. When userspace supplies the same leaf handle twice, the same old-parent pointer lands twice in old_nodes[]. The cleanup loop double frees the parent. Of course the same parent may still be in old_nodes[] twice if we are moving multiple of its leaves. Note that this patch also implicitly fixes the fact that the i >= leaves_count path forgets to set ret.
CVE-2026-80698 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-01 7.0 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dmaengine: idxd: fix double free of wq, engine, and group structs The release callbacks for wq, engine, and group devices (idxd_conf_wq_release, idxd_conf_engine_release, idxd_conf_group_release) each call kfree() on the enclosing struct. The setup error paths and cleanup functions also call kfree() explicitly after put_device(), producing a double free whenever put_device() drops the reference count to zero and fires the release. In the setup functions, device_initialize() is called before device_add(), so the reference count is exactly 1 at the error sites. put_device() unconditionally fires the release, which frees the struct; the subsequent explicit kfree() then operates on freed memory. For idxd_setup_wqs(), the wq release callback also owns opcap_bmap and wqcfg. The error unwind additionally freed those fields explicitly before calling put_device(), causing further double frees on both. Remove the redundant explicit kfree() calls from all setup error paths and cleanup functions for wq, engine, and group structs, delegating sole ownership of those allocations to the release callbacks.
CVE-2026-80699 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-01 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: arm64: vgic: Avoid double-deactivate of IRQs in the nested context In the nested state, the physical interrupt has already been deactivated through the HW bit in the LR. The extra deactivation would be harmless but can hit an errata case on AmpereOne, so avoid it here. On AmpereOne, deactivating a physical interrupt through ICC_DIR_EL1 or ICC_EOIR1_EL1 (depending on EOImode) which is not active, but is the highest priority pending interrupt causes the cpu to lose the interrupt pending state and also prevents the delivery of future interrupts.
CVE-2026-72015 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-23 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fs/resctrl: Fix double-add of pseudo-locked region's RMID to free list A pseudo-locked group's RMID is freed when it is created. On unmount rmdir_all_sub() unconditionally frees all RMID of all groups, resulting in a double-free of the pseudo-locked group's RMID. The consequence of this is that the original free results in the pseudo-locked group's RMID being added to the rmid_free_lru linked list and the second free then attempts to add the same RMID entry to the rmid_free_lru again. Do not double-free a pseudo-locked group's RMID.
CVE-2026-45852 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-22 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/rxe: Fix double free in rxe_srq_from_init In rxe_srq_from_init(), the queue pointer 'q' is assigned to 'srq->rq.queue' before copying the SRQ number to user space. If copy_to_user() fails, the function calls rxe_queue_cleanup() to free the queue, but leaves the now-invalid pointer in 'srq->rq.queue'. The caller of rxe_srq_from_init() (rxe_create_srq) eventually calls rxe_srq_cleanup() upon receiving the error, which triggers a second rxe_queue_cleanup() on the same memory, leading to a double free. The call trace looks like this: kmem_cache_free+0x.../0x... rxe_queue_cleanup+0x1a/0x30 [rdma_rxe] rxe_srq_cleanup+0x42/0x60 [rdma_rxe] rxe_elem_release+0x31/0x70 [rdma_rxe] rxe_create_srq+0x12b/0x1a0 [rdma_rxe] ib_create_srq_user+0x9a/0x150 [ib_core] Fix this by moving 'srq->rq.queue = q' after copy_to_user.
CVE-2026-72289 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-22 9.3 Critical
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: arm64: vgic: Check the interrupt is still ours before migrating it vgic_prune_ap_list() drops both ap_list_lock and irq_lock while migrating an interrupt to another vCPU. After reacquiring the locks it only checks that the affinity is unchanged (target_vcpu == vgic_target_oracle(irq)) before moving the interrupt, which assumes that an interrupt whose affinity is preserved is still queued on this vCPU's ap_list. That assumption no longer holds if the interrupt is taken off the ap_list while the locks are dropped. vgic_flush_pending_lpis() removes the interrupt from the list and sets irq->vcpu to NULL, but leaves enabled/pending/target_vcpu untouched. As the interrupt is still enabled and pending, vgic_target_oracle() returns the same target_vcpu, so the affinity check passes and list_del() is run a second time on an entry that has already been removed. Also check that the interrupt is still assigned to this vCPU (irq->vcpu == vcpu) before moving it.
CVE-2026-72406 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-22 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: sungem: fix probe error cleanup gem_init_one() calls gem_remove_one() when register_netdev() fails. gem_remove_one() unregisters and frees resources owned by the net_device, including the DMA block, MMIO mapping, PCI regions, and the net_device itself. gem_init_one() then falls through to its own cleanup labels and frees the same resources again. Keep the register_netdev() error path in gem_init_one(): clear drvdata so PM/remove paths do not see a half-registered device, remove the NAPI instance added during probe, and let the existing cleanup labels release the resources once. The issue was found by a local static-analysis checker for probe error paths. The reported path was manually inspected before sending this fix. Compile-tested with CONFIG_SUNGEM=y. Runtime testing was not performed because no sungem hardware is available.
CVE-2026-74502 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-21 7.0 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: ump: fix double free of out_cvts on rawmidi error snd_ump_attach_legacy_rawmidi() allocates the legacy conversion array ump->out_cvts and, on the snd_rawmidi_new() error path, frees it with kfree() but leaves ump->out_cvts pointing at the freed memory. When the endpoint is later torn down, snd_ump_endpoint_free() frees ump->out_cvts a second time, resulting in a double free. The host snd-usb-audio driver attaches the legacy rawmidi for any USB MIDI 2.0 (UMP) device, so a device that makes snd_rawmidi_new() fail reaches this path on enumeration. Clear ump->out_cvts after freeing it on the error path so it is not freed again during teardown. Discovered by XBOW, triaged by Baul Lee <[email protected]>
