CVE-2026-19820 1 Backblaze 1 Backblaze 2026-09-02 N/A
A vulnerability in the Backblaze Client allows a local user to make the system not bootable by creating a link from Backblaze's folder to Windows OS system files during a backup. Successful exploitation requires an administrator-level system change that results in the absence of specific Windows OS security controls. This vulnerability is due to improper link resolution.
CVE-2026-74880 1 Jahlives 1 Openssl Encrypt 2026-09-01 9.8 Critical
openssl_encrypt versions before 1.4.0 accept refresh tokens as URL query parameters in keyserver and telemetry server routes. Attackers can extract tokens from server logs, proxy logs, browser history, and HTTP Referer headers to gain unauthorized access.
CVE-2026-61792 1 Weblate 1 Weblate 2026-09-01 7.7 High
Weblate is a web-based continuous localization platform used to manage software translations. In versions prior to 2026.7, a project administrator can read files outside their repository through the App store metadata download feature, which resolves attacker-influenced paths without adequately confining them to the repository. This is an incomplete fix for CVE-2026-34242, whose original patch failed to fully prevent the path traversal, allowing the arbitrary file read to persist. A user with project-administrator privileges can therefore disclose the contents of files on the Weblate host that lie outside the project's repository. This issue is fixed in version 2026.7.
CVE-2026-55569 1 Aquaproj 1 Aqua 2026-09-01 6.6 Medium
aqua is a declarative command-line version manager written in Go. Prior to 2.60.1, pkg/unarchive/archives.go in the handler.HandleFile method calls os.Symlink with archives.FileInfo.LinkTarget without verifying that the target remains under the extraction destination. A later regular-file entry at the same archive path is opened with OpenFile using O_CREATE and O_WRONLY, which follows the attacker-planted symlink. A malicious or compromised package archive can therefore write attacker-controlled bytes outside aqua's extraction directory with the privileges of the user running aqua, potentially overwriting shell startup files, tool configuration, or writable executable paths. This issue is fixed in version 2.60.1.
CVE-2026-82248 1 Gitoxidelabs 1 Gitoxide 2026-08-31 5.3 Medium
gix-worktree-state before 0.33.0 (part of gitoxide) allows writing files outside the worktree on Windows. gix_worktree_state::checkout() follows an existing terminal symlink during non-exclusive (incremental) materialization (destination_is_initially_empty: false) when core.symlinks is true. If a symlink entry (mode 120000) is first checked out at a path P pointing outside the worktree, a subsequent incremental checkout of a regular-file entry (mode 100644) at the same path follows the existing reparse point and writes the blob content through the link, overwriting files outside the worktree.
CVE-2026-81727 1 Nltk 1 Nltk 2026-08-31 7.1 High
NLTK versions before 3.10.3 contain a filesystem containment bypass vulnerability in the Downloader.download and Downloader.incr_download methods that allows attackers to overwrite files outside the install root through pre-existing hardlinks. Attackers with write access to a shared downloader directory can create hardlinks pointing to outside-root files that are then overwritten during normal package extraction, mutating files outside the intended install tree.
CVE-2026-59311 2 Spring, Vmware 2 Spring Integration, Spring Integration 2026-08-31 6.8 Medium
A local unprivileged user on the same host can redirect all Zip/UnZip transformer output into a directory of their choosing by pre-creating /tmp/ziptransformer as a symlink before the application starts. Spring Integration 7.1.0 Spring Integration 7.0.0 - 7.0.5 Spring Integration 6.5.0 - 6.5.10 Spring Integration 6.4.0 - 6.4.12
CVE-2026-76179 1 Ebyte 1 Ebyte Ne2-d11 Firmware 2026-08-31 9.8 Critical
An improper protection of authentication tokens vulnerability exists in certain Ebyte gateway products. Authentication tokens used by the web management interface are insufficiently protected during client-side session handling, which may allow an attacker with access to exposed session information to obtain and reuse a valid token. Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to impersonate an authenticated user and gain unauthorized access to device management functionality.
CVE-2026-80663 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-29 7.1 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tools/power/x86/intel-speed-select: Harden daemon pidfile open Avoid symlink-based pidfile clobbering by opening the pidfile with O_NOFOLLOW and validating it with fstat() before locking/writing. The daemon currently uses a fixed pidfile path under /tmp. A local unprivileged user can pre-create a symlink at that path and cause a root-run daemon instance to write into an attacker-chosen file.
CVE-2026-55108 1 Kubevela 1 Kubevela 2026-08-28 8.5 High
KubeVela is an open source application delivery platform. Prior to 1.9.14, from 1.10.0-alpha.1 until 1.10.9, and from 1.11.0-alpha.1 until 1.11.0-alpha.4, the Terraform remote configuration loader in pkg/controller/utils/capability.go, GetTerraformConfigurationFromRemote, clones a repository supplied through a core.oam.dev/v1beta1 ComponentDefinition and follows repository-controlled variables.tf or main.tf symlinks. A user with permission to create or update ComponentDefinition objects can point variables.tf to /dev/zero through terraform.path, after which os.Stat and os.ReadFile follow the link and read an unbounded stream before ParseTerraformVariables or HCL parsing can reject the content. The read can exhaust memory, OOM-kill the cluster-wide vela-core controller, cause repeated Pod restarts, and pressure node memory when no effective container limit is configured. This issue is fixed in versions 1.9.14, 1.10.9, and 1.11.0-alpha.4.
CVE-2026-65647 1 Webpros 2 Plesk Migrator, Plesk Site Import 2026-08-28 N/A
Improper symlink resolution before file access in Plesk allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code as root.
CVE-2026-82181 1 Le-yan 1 Medical Practice Management System 2026-08-28 5.5 Medium
Medical Practice Management System developed by Le-yan has a Sensitive Data in URL vulnerability. Unauthenticated remote attackers can obtain sensitive information via victim's browser history or log files.
CVE-2026-70626 1 Nltk 1 Nltk 2026-08-28 6.2 Medium
NLTK versions before 3.9.4 contain a symlink escape vulnerability in CorpusReader.open() that allows local attackers to read arbitrary files outside the corpus root. The vulnerability exists because path validation is lexical and does not account for symlink resolution, enabling attackers to place symlinks inside the corpus root to access files outside the intended boundary.
CVE-2026-17106 2 Docker, Moby 7 Desktop, Docker Cli, Docker Compose and 4 more 2026-08-28 7.8 High
The tar extraction routines in moby/go-archive (Unpack, UnpackLayer, Untar/UntarUncompressed, and the ApplyLayer helpers) do not confine filesystem operations to the destination directory. The extractor decides where each archive entry lands using lexical string checks and then performs the filesystem operation on a path that is resolved by the OS, so links introduced by the archive can be followed out of the destination directory. An attacker who controls the contents of an archive can create or overwrite files at arbitrary paths writable by the extracting process.
CVE-2026-82252 1 Gitoxidelabs 1 Gitoxide 2026-08-28 7.5 High
gitoxide before 0.52.1 follows symlinks when reading the worktree .gitmodules file, allowing attackers to inject out-of-repository bytes into submodule metadata. Attackers can create a malicious repository with a symlinked .gitmodules pointing outside the repository tree, causing gitoxide to parse arbitrary external files as submodule configuration and expose attacker-controlled name, path, and url values.
CVE-2026-72696 1 Getgrav 1 Grav 2026-08-27 8.4 High
Grav CMS before 2.0.16 contains a symlink following vulnerability in Scheduler Job::createLockFile() that allows local attackers to overwrite arbitrary files by pre-creating symlinks at predictable lock file paths in the world-writable temp directory. Attackers can place a symlink at the predictable lock path pointing to any file the web server process can write to, and the next scheduled job run will follow the symlink and overwrite the target file's content with the job ID string.
CVE-2026-56651 1 Scottchiefbaker 1 Dool 2026-08-27 N/A
Dool in versions up to 1.3.8 is vulnerable to symlink following when the "--devel" flag is used, as the application opens a log file without the "O_NOFOLLOW" flag. A local attacker can exploit this by creating a symlink at the expected log file path pointing to a sensitive file, causing dool to truncate and overwrite the target file with log data, which is especially impactful if dool is run with elevated privileges. The issue was addressed by pull request #116
CVE-2026-19693 1 Max-mapper 1 Extract-zip 2026-08-27 8.1 High
extract-zip through 2.0.1 containment-checks only the parent directory of each archive entry and never the entry's own final path component, so an archive containing two entries with identical names - a symlink whose target is outside the destination, followed by a regular file - writes through the planted symlink and yields an arbitrary file write outside the destination directory.
CVE-2026-18267 1 Kenwood 1 Dnr1007xr 2026-08-26 N/A
Kenwood DNR1007XR Firmware Update Link Following Code Execution Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows physically present attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of Kenwood DNR1007XR devices. Authentication is not required to exploit this vulnerability. The specific flaw exists within the firmware update process. By creating a symbolic link, an attacker can abuse the service to move a file to an arbitrary location. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of root. Was ZDI-CAN-28751.
CVE-2026-54230 2 Fedoraproject, Redhat 3 Fedora, Automatic Bug Reporting Tool, Enterprise Linux 2026-08-26 7 High
A symlink following vulnerability was found in the ABRT post-create event handler scripts in libreport. Event scripts write output files using shell redirections without the O_NOFOLLOW flag. If the target file is replaced with a symlink, the shell process running as root follows the symlink and writes content to the symlink target, allowing arbitrary file overwrites on the system.
